Love this podcast and hoping for more. Beware of spoilers in the short episodes. A new Proustian I can recommend this. Short but full of insight with lovely musical seconds to enjoy. Highly recommend.

Thanks for this James, appreciate the effort and the informative yet suitably languid take on Proust’s masterpiece. I’m now onto budding grove, please continue when you are able

It’s my first journey through Proust, and I’m about half way through. This podcast has really helped me reflect on moments earlier in the novel. The literary analysis is so informative and helps me map out important symbols, themes, and events. I’m grateful for Dr. James Holden sharing his...Read full review »

This is a very informative and insightful podcast about the Recherche. Highly recommended, both for people who haven’t yet read Proust and for anyone who has. Absolutely lovely and for now, I’m so looking forward to the next episodes!

This podcast has the potential to be an invaluable companion to those starting out on ISOLT, and a very enjoyable reminder to those of us who have completed the cycle of books. Well done.

If you’re reading Proust, here’s a great companion. Would love a bit more biographical info on Proust and how his life relates to the text but aside from that, it’s great!

I have had ‘In Search of Lost Time’ on my reading list for about twenty years now and have finally been inspired to begin by this podcast. I’m really enjoying it. It’s like having a kindly and knowledgeable professor to help you understand and appreciate this great work.

I’m hooked already! This thoughtfully crafted podcast is a brilliant invitation into the world of Proust and the insights his work offers into, e.g., history, love/sexuality, class, art, bigotry—and of course the opportunities it presents to better understand ourselves.
