Layers of information and knowledge
I’m a Psych NP student and RN. I deeply appreciate Dr. Puder’s podcast for many reasons. 1). Dr. Puder works to represent the full scope of psychiatric practice, and he clearly states the reasons for paying attentive care to the connections we make with our patients as well as the molecules we shoot their way. He also is both an advocate of and an enthusiastic learner about the role of diet, exercise, and other lifestyle factors. 2). The guests are as varied as they are excellent. Experts in a variety of aspects of psychiatry/psychotherapy speak on this show. They have all been engaging speakers - and Dr. Puder is an engaging interviewer, using his empathy, insight, and curiosity to emphasize what makes each guest unique and valuable. 3). Pop culture and culture are both woven in to topics, in entertaining and clinically relevant ways. 4) Dr. Puder’s experience with research, and his ability to talk research shop with his very knowledgeable guests, helps me understand research better. However, almost every guest is also a practitioner, and so their discussions about how research and practice do - and don’t - match helps me ask better questions about how to translate research to practice. 5). It’s just enjoyable to listen to! This podcast is to psychiatry what the Curbsiders are for general medicine. I encourage anyone who wants to learn more about psychiatry - not just about psychopharmacology (but that, too) - to give this podcast a go.

I find this podcasts so interesting and inspiring. I particularly enjoyed the episode about sensorium. I hope you continue to post more podcasts and if possible, I would love to hear your take on therapy sessions for those with cluster B personality disorders.

I’m not psychiatrist or therapist, just interested for my own care. I’m learning a lot which I can share with my own doctor for treatment. Thanks so much!

I listen to a lot of mental health podcasts but I have to say that Dr. Puder’s podcast is the best out there. He manages to get the right balance between the science and easy to listen therapy talk. It’s great for the aspiring therapist or psychiatrist but equally as interesting for anyone who’s...Read full review »
