A well researched, documented and supported examination of some of the ways in which our nations history is so intertwined with racism. Compellingly told. Great listen. Highly recommend!

Learning the history of a country shouldn’t be attacked just because you don’t like it! The only reason this is getting negative reviews is to stop the discussion and dissection of purity culture in the United States. The podcast touches on important and relevant topics around white Christian...Read full review »

No one should be surprised by any of this. These are racist, religious fanatics, which, by definition, makes them not very intelligent. They are molded from common, conservative clay. You know, morons.

also boosting, cuz i see the white racists are maaaaaad.

Really? Celibacy of white women was created to give white women power? No. The idea was created (as usual) by men who want control over women and their bodies. Just was we were seeing now. I know many evangelicals and have experienced and seen first hand their justification of racism and their...Read full review »

This is a sober look at the history of one element of our culture. It seems to be a little too smart for some people whom failed to engage the material as revealed by the comments they leave behind as reviews. Did they even listen? Are they even human non-bots? If so, they certainly didn’t leave...Read full review »

This podcast answer to waiting for marriage and the creation of stable unified family unit is what? Sleep with who ever you want without a thought to the future? Does she think there is no consequences to sex? It feels go so do it? Sugar tastes good so is that all I should eat? It there no...Read full review »

I just want to add something that I don’t think was fully explored in Episode 5 when talking about the guy who shot up the massage parlor: The delusional cycle that allows that kind of thinking is rooted in the Heroic personal narrative of evangelical white culture: One is at war with the...Read full review »

1 star reviews illustrate cognitive dissonance featured in one of the episodes! Enjoyed the podcast although they were short episodes. Would have also liked to see inclusion of the white settlers views on Native American men.

This is probably good enough work to get you a doctorate at a modern university. However, it requires omitting most of human history to create this narrative. Oppression is immoral but the author of this podcast cannot give you objective reason as to why.

I loved how much I learned by listening to this podcast and will probably go back and listen to it all a second time to refresh my memory and really capture the facts. I am grateful for the introduction to the primary sources highlighted from US history and look forward to checking those out too....Read full review »

Very well composed. The negative reviews are clearly targeted trolling.

I bet the people that gave this podcast 1 star would give you 5 stars if you start talking about slavery taught Black people skills.

What a bunch of racially divisive propaganda and lies! Can I give it 0 stars?

This podcast is filled with hateful and intolerant content. It ascribes negative stereotypes to cultures based on race, religion, and sex. It specifically denigrates women. If you like hate speech, this podcast is for you.

ApplePaltrow via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/20/24
This podcast distorts and omits quite a bit of proven and verifiable facts to attack what they don’t agree with. These are just personal political opinions at best. Listen if this echo chamber of bigotry and misinformation toward a group of people for their religious beliefs makes you feel right...Read full review »

A critical listen making clear the deep and violent historical co-dependencies between anti-blackness, misogyny and evangelicalism.

Good content and concept, but the sound is not up to the same quality - whether the audio quality (they didn’t know how to set up a good mic or how to work with levels), the narrator’s style (some professional coaching would work wonders), or the sound design in general (distracting background...Read full review »
