The Fairy God-planners!
I was so excited when I first found this podcast. Finally, a no nonsense, practical guide to planning a wedding!! My fiancee is in the Navy and of the 10 months that we will be engaged, he is away on deployment for 9 of them. This means that I am basically left to plan a wedding on my own. At first it felt like I was living the dream - being able to plan the wedding that I wanted without having to consult my groom at all. But eventually planning plus work plus all the other things that life throws your way just got to me. I found myself crying over everything from finding out that my dream venue was already booked to discovering that my favourite flower wouldn't be in season on my wedding day. When things got hectic and emotional and I didn't have my fiancee's calming presence to put everything into perspective, Dan and Danielle were the little voice in my ear reminding me of the bigger picture. Dan and Danielle have so much great advice on everything from dealing with crazy relatives to booking vendors to budgeting. I enjoy their podcast so much that I've found myself relistening to a lot of my favourite episodes and even listening to episodes that don't relate to my wedding at all. Since listening to the podcast I have also become weirdly facinated by the cultural differences between American weddings and weddings in Australia (where I live). Here it is commonplace to ask for money from your guests and this request is often included on wedding invitations (although I find it a little crass). Now I'm also incredibly grateful that tipping is not customary down here. I knew that tipping was a thing in the US but never considered how that would impact on weddings. For anyone who is planning a wedding, hopes to one day be planning a wedding, has planned a wedding, is attending a wedding or has any interest in weddings whatsoever - you NEED this podcast in your life! Dan and Danielle are funny, informative and engaging. I know that I will still be a loyal listener long after my big day is over. Thank you for keeping my sane and focussed on what is really important about a wedding. I can't wait for the next episode!Read full review »

I listen to a wide variety of wedding podcasts to try to get a lot of great information. And although I was able to listen to one podcast (because they have a guest speaker and it was full of information start to finish which is the only reason I’ll give four stars otherwise it would be a two) I...Read full review »
