Compelling story, maybe a different host?
Update: this show is WAY better when it’s focused on lesser-known stories and regular folks. The last two seasons were about celebrities, and the stories have already been covered thoroughly, and better, elsewhere. It’s not interesting. This story is really compelling, and you definitely want to know what happens next…. Jonathan Walton maybe should’ve had someone else co-produce this. A good deal of the episodes are so focused on Jonathan’s reactions/feelings/beliefs that it stops being about Mair Smith and what she actually DID. Jonathan is also just drama personified, so everything is presented like the worst thing that has ever happened to a person in the history of the world.. It’s just too much. I concur with others that the episode with the psychic as well as the bonus episode were hard to listen to. We just heard all about how someone posed as a psychic to scam people, and now you’re consulting a psychic for an entire episode?! And he barely let the true crime/scam expert talk in the bonus episode. Jonathan maybe could benefit from talking to a qualified therapist about his experience. Get some distance/closure.

I look forward to Thursdays and will be sad when it’s over! What a fascinating story and Jonathan’s presenting style is so human; I feel like I’ve been on a real rollercoaster with him.
