Good ... but some flaws.
I really enjoyed (for the most part) listening to Rabbits. I think it's paced really well, there's a real creation of atmosphere (although it does become a bit formulaic after a while), and I really enjoy the level of complexity of creating back stories, drawing on real sources such as Jung and classical philosophy and Christian hagiography, and made up sources too. They're mostly so well blended that it's hard to tell the difference. However, there are a few things that really lessened the impact and the enjoyment. Above everything else (and maybe only I feel like this), the pattern where, in dialogue, a question is asked; is met with silence; the person asking the question says the person's name; and then an answer is given - it really, truly got on my nerves. It was done so frequently, and, often, so unnaturally, that it set my teeth on edge - and it happened all the time. I also think that the dialogue was often unnatural in delivery and the script became just too apparent, as did the odd silences and gaps throughout. I also didn't understand the (fictional) advert for Path Cards being repeated in every episode of season two. In all, I really enjoyed the plot and the world creation - but feel that the dialogue and accruing needed to have more flow and realism to achieve the full potential in this podcast that I have genuinely enjoyed.Read full review »

Already really like the host...Read full review »
