Great Podcast to Learn About Aspects of Healthcare Beyond the Classroom
Straight to the point, inquisitive, and eye-opening. These are the words that I would describe the episodes of the Raise the Line podcast. The topics that they are discussing in these podcasts are some of the interesting things to talk about in healthcare, especially if you're a student looking into health beyond the medical school classroom. I liked the episode on "Digital Health for Ordinary Citizens" as it posed questions on how digital technology like wearable health devices and apps can empower patients to take charge and monitor their health. I also found it cool how apps can be designed with an algorithm to paint a picture of a patient's health status based on data the data recorded from apps. The digital health ecosystem is something that I look forward to hear more about in the future. Oh and, I also loved the episode on "Bringing Learning Science into Classrooms". As a medical student myself, I have always been curious about how we, as humans, learn and how can we maximize it. It's interesting to hear Dr. Kosslyn's discussion on how doing active learning and practicing critical thinking skills at the classroom level can help one become a good clinician in the real world practice. Overall, the podcast is great. It's not intimidating and complex as people think it would be. I would recommend this to my friends both inside and outside medical school.Read full review »
