The Randy Pausch Memorial Bridge features more than 7,000 programmable (and environmentally friendly) LED lights. As part of the 2009 Homecoming festivities, Carnegie Mellon celebrated the dedication of the Pausch Bridge, a memorial to the alumnus and professor Randy Pausch who inspired millions through his Last Lecture. The Pausch Bridge connects one of the university's fine arts buildings, the Purnell Center, with the new Gates and Hillman Centers, the home for computer science at Carnegie Mellon.
