“This could easily be my favorite podcast but...
Mysteries and thrillers are my jam. I look forward to this podcast more than any others. That being said, I have some issues with it. Firstly, I consider myself to be a progressive and liberal feminist BUT I find the hosts insistence on being super “woke” with every review tiring. Sometimes I want reviews on popular releases because they sound good! If the author happens to be white or a man, that can still be ok.
Secondly, the hosts speak so quickly and with weird nervous tics that it can be off putting. After three years of hosting this show, they shouldn’t sound so nervous.
And lastly, they often just read the blurb that’s given by the publishers. I’d like to hear a more in-depth description of the book.”
