A helpful resource
Kendra and Autumn pull together innovative themes and rich collections of books all written by women. Additionally, they craft excellent challenges with wonderful suggestions that guide readers to a broad range of women authors. They encourage followers to read female authors from Canada & Australia, or to find a fantasy novel written by a woman of color and these are just a couple from their list of 24 challenge items. They do such a fine job of expanding the genre for and by women. Occasionally, they interview authors and harvest a decent bunch, though their line of questioning needs some greater attention. Lastly, they have a wonderful newsletter and cute Etsy store with the usual book items people in Bookstagram etc. enjoy especially their, “Blind Date With A Book” program which I’m tempted to try in the near future. My only complaint is that horrible theme song that really drags the life out of their programming. They should find a different musician to compose something more festive and fruitful. Take two! This show has evolved and in such an organic way. The new contributors bring rich flavors and necessary analysis and discussion to themes that have become barriers and need to be traversed for a healthy future for the entire population sharing the bookshelf! Bravo women!!

This podcast has opened my eyes to so many good books! Love the conversations they have around women authors, but also the portrayal of women in literature! Definitely recommend!

This is my favorite podcast to listen to every week, mainly because it's not overwhelming! What I mean by this is that sometimes book podcasts have a tendency to overwhelm listeners with the sheer number, review of, or even just the type of books they cover. These two have a wonderful blend...Read full review »
