Intelligent coaches Refreshing authenticity On more than one occasion they've made a sports-related insight that strikes me as incredibly relevant to my own non-analogous field. Many thanks for the time and effort the two of you put into the podcast. Please keep up the outstanding content as your...Read full review »

By far the best coaching podcast I have heard. No bs or fancy music. True stories and showing us what really works. Thank you very much. Can't wait to have more of it. Already went through some of them twice already.

Great level-headed insight into elite triathlon coaching. Sousa can come across as smug but he and Filliol are rightly dismissive of the trendy buzzy nature of triathlon. I imagine it is difficult to organize episodes once the season starts and their groups are out and about throughout the world...Read full review »

I always learn a ton from listening to this podcast. Joel and Paulo are very good at providing an experienced and balanced perspective to training techniques, protocols and overall approach. This is very helpful in navigating the web of myths, fads, micro-optimizations mixed with all the sound...Read full review »

I love how Joel and Paulo cut through the hype and crap found on.. ahem.. other podcasts, to bring the meat and potatoes of the proven methods and approaches for training. Good stuff here folks!

Love the content and style of this podcast. No nonsense, you don’t feel products being pushed down your throat and the coaching resource is as good as it gets (and hard to find elsewhere). Thanks for the enlightenment.

Joel was my coach from 2005-2008 and has been coach again since 2014. Even after knowing him for more than a decade, I still find myself learning things from listening to this podcast. It’s prompted some good discussions between us as I find myself understanding more about the how and why of...Read full review »

HEY GUYS, GOOD JOB ON THE PODCAST, THIS IS IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION COMPARED TO THE SO-CALLED COACHES OUT THERE WHO USE THEIR PODCAST AS A FEEDER SYSTEM FOR THEIR TRAINING CAMPS

Perhaps the closest audio stand-in to a coaching apprenticeship an aspiring real coach can get. Appreciate that honest perspective from two coaches with lots of experience who aren't trying to sell you on a specific system/software.

Hearing both coaches thoughts and ideas and keeping me informed on itu and Olympic stuff. Great info coaches

Enjoy the podcast. Hope you can sustain, keep content rich, and evolve. Love hearing what the top end athletes do. At times, it feels a little condescending. Ripping on techniques that other coaches may prescribe might not be helpful. For instance, I swim with D2 college swimmers that are...Read full review »

Good dialogue between two top level coaches, with information for aspiring Elites and Age Groupers alike. The mix of topics works well along with the guest speakers. One to follow.

Real Coaching tells it as it is. Thanks Coach Joel Filleol for letting the triathlon world inside your head. Raw, truthful and to the point.

Every episode provides me a wealth of knowledge. As a coach myself, it is getting more and more difficult to find "real coaching" information versus the plentiful pseudo-scientific “coachertainment” style of knowledge. Joel and Paulo provide their personal experiences (good and bad) from many...Read full review »

Refreshing and honest. It’s a meat and potatoes kinda discussion. The frank insights* can also be applied to other sports and indeed other facets of life outside of the sporting world. Good stuff guys. Its nice to learn from the perspective of two coaches who have boots on the group with elites every day. I’ve learned a lot and had plenty reinforced as well.

This is a very good podcast. Devoid of self-serving fluff typical of many triathlon podcasts, Joe and Paulo dive right into real world theory and application of training techniques backed a a legitimate roster of proficient, elite-level triathletes. Definitely a favorite of mine.

Serious discussion by serious coaches. They blend the science of coaching with the art - listening in is like being a fly on the wall and getting insight into how the top end trains. Relatable enough for the hack like me with true goodness for the practitioners.

I have been a triathlete for 20 years, and I have great passion for this sport. I heard about this show on TRS Triathlon, he was interviewing both Joel and Paulo. I immediately became a fan. I am not a coach, and I am far from being an "athlete"; I'm just an ex-obese guy trying to stay in shape. I am however very interested in doing things the right way, and this requires...Read full review »
