“One of my dads old employees legitimately was a snake breeder so I do know a few things about this.
1) This is 100% a gambling debt
2) The types of snakes they would apparently be selling would be the rare and exotic ones that would be worth thousands or tens of thousands each, not the $300-$500 ones that the guy I know would be selling
3) Jays joke about the IRS refusing to do a headcount is surprisingly true. This was in Slave Lake, and after the forest fire people weren’t allowed to go back in to grab their pets, they had to get the police and animal rescue to go in the town to grab them. When he told them that it was 80 snakes in his basement they let him pass with no issue, didn’t even have a police escort with him.”
