Long, with occasional brilliance.
I have been a Nicole Antoinette fan since she was drunk and building ball pits in her backyard, and I have loved watching her evolution. Despite my adoration, I will admit that it is a struggle for me to commit to listening to a two-hour podcast, especially one that I have to actively listen to or worry about missing something. That said, there's are definitely enjoyable and insightful parts. The podcast really hits its stride in the Laura Jane Williams episode, which truly sounds like two fascinating women talking about life, rather than a formalized interview with questions that try too hard to be meaningful (looking at you, "how do you honor your creativity?"). I'd recommend to future guests to really treat it as more of a casual conversation, like Laura Jane. I would also prefer that the podcast be broken down into more digestible parts, which I guess directly conflicts with the idea of having a casual conversation rather than formalized, constructed interviews, so take my ideas with a lot of salt. The Laura Jane episode may also be helped along by the speed of talk, which in turn shortens the podcast; you can't force that, but everyone relaxing around the podcast will help that. Overall, it's a strong first season, but there's also plenty of room for growth.Read full review »

The perfect podcast for long train journeys! Nicole is an excellent interviewer and really gets to the heart of people's real lives and dreams. A broad range of guests - my favourites are the writers/ bloggers - mean you learn so much when you listen to Real Talk Radio.
