Episodes
What could have been an interesting 80s slasher is actually a pretty tedious 2000s GrimGore™ slog, as me and Martin Dunlop look at 2007's Brutal. Deeply strange music choices, a very convoluted deux ex machina and a town in Nowhere, USA- Brutal has it all for your early-oughts horror needs. And Jeff has a new hat!

One of the more divisive episodes, evidently! Me and writer Jeremy Herbert have quite different opinions about this episode's movie, 2012's Would You Rather, featuring Jeff in 'dapper, refined sadist' mode. But hey, we all love a bit of healthy debate here at Camp Re-Animates. We also dig into a special After Dark version of that IMDB game I still don't have a name for- Re-Animates gets blue!

Re-Animates 2: Back in the Habit! The Jeffpod returns with more of what we all want: lols, factoids and incomprehesible tangents into nowhere. This week I'm joined by my Punwatch and Failure to Launch co-conspirators, Alex Malone and David Shaw, for "What Is This Thing Called Love", the S1/E16 episode of "Jake the Fatman" (1988). No, I don't know why the episode is called that, either. Surely "A Close Shave" would've made more sense? Listen to the ep to find out why!

This week, me and Timothy Clark answer some FAQ about Castle Freak (1995), like: Is it more of family drama with a creepy dungeon dude dropped in? How do you escape an Italian jail? Did The Duchess win Best Costume Design at the 2008 Oscars? (Yes; Easily; Tim's A Nerd So Yes). Come run around Le Castle Del Reilly with us! Molto bene!

Join me and Rob and Lucy Caruana for a look at the Haunted Hill House...House on the Hill...Haunted House on the Haunted Hill...a movie, anyway. A movie with scarcely any Jeff but enough Chris Kattan and killer 90s lines for anyone. Also: zoetropes.

Do you feel...anything? You're bound to, as Martin Dunlop and Harry Brimage join me to tackle The Wizard of Gore (2007), in all its bloody, leechy, very 2000s glory. Come for the cavalcade of character actors, stay for body horror and Lana Del Ray.

Kicking off 2022 with an absolutely corker- I mean, the film [Sharkman / Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy (2005)] is rubbish but a great time was had on the pod by me and my guests Josh and Christian from the Welcome to Patchwork podcast! Jeff is in classic Mad Scientist mode and we discuss sock etiquette, good shark names and what to do when something explodes.

It's a Creature Feature! Me and Nick Mason (The Weekly Planet) check out "A Quartet of Creatures", S1/E3 of Ultraman- a show that is NOT Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. There's a lot of bad costumes and fight scenes but more importantly there's a lot of Jeff! We also look at the monster mid-life crisis, gross trivia games and why on Earth this show exists in the first place.

It's Springtime for Hitler, as me and Ben Volchok dig into Snide and Prejudice (1997), a film about a man who think he is the Fuhrer. It's not as grim a time as you think but it's no knee-slapper, either. It's a weird one! Plus: some IMPECCABLE Matthew McConaughey impressions (sorry) and lots of singing (not sorry).

Leap through your nearest plate-glass window and listen to me and Cara (Cruisin' for a Reviewsin' podcast) chat about fun action-comedy Felony (1994)! Jeff teams up with some old mates, does a lot of cool stunts and even has a romance! We talk about bugs, Nic Cage and the greatest podcast crossover of all.

Ben Nichols joins me for the gooey, sexy, monstery but very pretty From Beyond (1986)! One of Jeff's classic roles, it seems him team up with heaps of familiar friends from Re-Animator to make the moist and mind-bending masterpiece. Also: Beetlejuice goes Hawaiian, sensual pleasures and a million-dollar KFC idea.

Emily Intravia (The Feminine Critique podcast) joins me for the spooky, sleepy, slightly icky Parasomnia (2008). The film sees Jeff team up with old mate, writer/director William Malone and chewing a whole lotta gum. Plus: toilet robots, bro horror and Comb Juice comes full circle. Also, enjoy a lot of nice but unplanned bird sounds.

Writer/Trekker Andy Webb joins me to ~liquidate~ "The Magnificent Ferengi", Season 6/Episode 10 of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and one of Jeffrey Combs' most beloved Trek characters- Brunt! Tom McLean (Not Good Enough podcast) joins me for the very gooey and very 90s The Guyver (1991)! We explore rad effects guy Screaming Mad George in his directing debut, 90s rap and how best to show up to Heaven. Plus the return of "The Game I Don't Have A Name For Yet!"

Evie (Not Good Enough podcast) joins me for "The Replacement", an episode of action-comedy series She Spies (2003) where we enjoy 2000s fashion, quirky Lady Spies and a very camp Jeff. Also, the debut of a new (hopefully regular) game!

Not to be hyperbolic, but this podcast is the healing light of the world. Join me and Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall (Two in the Think Tank) as we traverse the juicy universe of season 2/episode 4 of Stan Against Evil, with Jeff as a magical IMPISH MAN. He's impish! Plus: gravy, prisms and yet more Horse Chat. Yeah, look, it's a weird one.

Come for the time-hopping sci-fi, stay for Horse Chat! Artist and comedian Trav Nash joins me to chat Trancers II (1991), a silly movie with a silly (aka small) amount of Jeff. It's a Full Moon movie, so...you know what you're in for.

Funny guy/science communicator Tom Lang joins me to discuss 'The Placebo Effect', S1/E34 of the 2002 Twilight Zone reboot. Jeff has lumps, Tom predicts the End Times and we learn about the Ice Age. Tune in to see if a throwaway joke becomes more and more annoying as the episode goes on! My bet's on "hmmm maybe"

Writer/director/voice actor and comic nerd Fabian Lapham joins me for another Scooby Doo adventure! This time it's Scooby-Doo and Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2018) featuring Jeff as mysterious The Question. Come for the Jeff, stay for the BatChat. And, finally, a worthy sign-off!

This week, Roland Hoffman and Murphy McLachlan join me with a sense of Urgency (2010)- geddit?- getting into this low-budget, odd thriller where Jeff has a lot of Divorced Guy Energy. We also talk a lot about Titanic and I'm not sorry about it.

This week, Andy Matthews (Two in the Think Tank, Pop Test) joins me to try to catch and kill the terrifying beast that is Abominable (2006). Tune in to hear Andy rewrite the film, I make up new forms of measurement and both of us try to work out just who came up this damn movie.

This week comedian Bec Petraitis goes ONLINE with me to explore the 2002 gritty interet thriller Fear Dot Com. Jeff stuffs his face with donuts, I carp on about Grimsby and Bec takes her f****d-up ice-cream treat as an omen of doom. Plus, radio prank calls! Remember them?!

This week, you get a twofer! Sarah Baggs and Michael Williams (Sarah & Michael Save Xmas, It's A Duck Blur, Greased Enlightening) join me to cover TWO episodes of Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated (2010) that star Jeff as Professor Hatecraft: The Shrieking Madness (S1 E12) and Pawn of Shadows (S1 E25). There's a bunch of Billy Joel talk, as well as Sarah and Michael's dog's favourite movies, jokes for kids and why Sarah isn't allowed to pun anymore.

Take a shot every time we're confused! Jackie and Danielle from the No More Late Fees podcast join me to tackle the labyrinthine The Attic Expeditions (2001). We try to dissect this one but also end up chatting craft breweries, the joy of Seth Green and the tragedy that America doesn't really know who Jedward are. You're missing out! Content warning for very brief mention of sexual assault as part of the plot of the film.
