Fascinating and inspiring! UPDATED 2022
UPDATE: Since Mike Senior handed over the hosting reigns, the podcast has become less focused and helpful. The sound examples are less practical, and usually accompanied by the host reading a long list of settings he used, which mean nothing to someone listening. The whole thing feels meandering and a waste of time. Sad to see this one drop in quality this way. Original Review Below: If you are looking for a way to get your educational fix while on the road (like myself), you can do no better than this wonderful podcast. Each episode is a streamlined DEEP dive into its subject matter, leaving you with a detailed understanding of everything from the specifics of snare compression to the proper delay times of a Haas delay. Mike's characteristic use of helpful sound examples illustrate each of his points brilliantly. As many others before me have said, my only criticism is I want MORE!! Keep up the awesome, exceptionally generous work SOS!Read full review »

One topic in 16 minutes, clear descriptions of benefits and pitfalls of the technique under discussion, with good (level matched) audio examples. If it wasn’t a podcast, you’d call it a tutorial. Great resource.
