Vaseem and Abir have a delightful form of repartee that I found so enjoyable that after listening to 3 current episodes I had to start the entire run of episodes from the very first. Starting with their books, which are incredible reads and a fantastic addition to any bookshelf, and on into this...Read full review »

Just discovered the podcast - a great way to discover new writers and find out more about favorites. The banter is excellent from two brilliant authors

Loved your chat with Jane who has cult status with us Australian readers. I’m sure she has spurned a whole genre of “outback” writing from people such as Chris Hammer, Christian White, JP Pomare & Tony Birch. The fabulous Tim Winton also shines a light on Australia with his evocative, often...Read full review »

Enjoyable listening, interesting guests and lots of laughs along the way. I have read all the books written by both these authors and due to the interesting guest authors I have expanded my library even further. I love their banter and goading of each other.

Hey guys: just a thought- are you aware that this podcast is for the entertainment of others and not just each other?

I’ve only recently started listening to this podcast here in Australia and love the humour, topics and guests. My book list grows with every episode. Thanks guys and keep going!

I am a reader of both these guys’ books, but I would enjoy listening to them regardless. They are so amiably snarky and just plain interesting. I haven’t been listening in order, but jump around according to my mood and who their guest is. And those guests! If you like crime fiction, there’s...Read full review »

A minute of Abir’s Mum is worth putting up with all the other funny nonsense for 59 mins

The funniest crime fiction podcast I’ve come across.

The two hosts play off each other to entertaining effect. I wondered at the point of some guests who were not directly of the crime writing ‘family’ but I’ve changed my mind having listened to the highly illuminating piece with Bobby Seagull. Keep up the entertainment!

Totally love this podcast, have done loads of book shopping on the back of it, really enjoy the contributors. Makes me laugh, think, relax, learn - love it. PS If I wasn’t too old, too married, have too many sons..... I would definitely want a date with Bobby Seagull...

...because they have me laughing out loud during my walks to class/work/wherever. Another reviewer called this podcast vibrant, and I’d have to agree. It’s a breath of fresh air in the middle of my otherwise dour mix of true crime, politics, and more “serious” writing shows. The hosts are great,...Read full review »

Always seem to be late to the party but I’m so glad I found this one. Several good reasons why anyone who loves books should download these little gems but three in particular. One: they’re informative and really entertaining. Two: these are really nice guys who clearly love what they’re doing...Read full review »

This podcast is on point and brilliant - love it! The interviews are great, I’ve added many more books to my “to read” list, and I laugh my way to and from work. It will get upgraded to 5 stars if/when the recording quality gets a little better. The change in volume between segments and...Read full review »

It’s not every day you get a group of Asian writers talking and shooting the breeze about this that and the other. Nice to hear the banter and the viewpoint. I’ll make a point of listening in next time and catching up with the earlier podcasts. [Full disclosure - I was not paid or threatened...Read full review »

A really good podcast with two excellent writers,Abir Mukherjee and Vaseem Kan and informed contributions from Ayisha Malik Alex Khan and Imran Khan. Interviews with writers, cultural comment and lots of lovely food references. All this in Abir’s mum’s kitchen. (She’s really the star of this show)
