71. Mothering in Midlife with Jane Jamieson
Listen now
Description
The redefining midlife podcast speaks to women, many of whom are mothers. Today I have Jane Bards, a dedicated psychologist, working in private practice, where she employs a holistic and neuroaffirming approach to therapy. Her therapeutic style combines evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of individual needs, fostering personal growth and resilience. Jane has completed additional study in perinatal psychology and is a Circle of Security Parenting facilitator. Jane considers her role as ‘Mum’ to be the most important, challenging, and fulfilling aspect of her life. Navigating the complexities of parenthood has not only shaped her personally but has also enriched her professional journey as a psychologist, providing unique insights into the intricate tapestry of human relationships and personal growth. Listen in as I chat to Jane and talk about: Building on connections and parenting throughout the lives of our children. The changes we have seen in parenting in the past 20 years, including advancements in technology and regulation skills. Increased access to information which can allow for reflection, learning and intentional parenting in different ways to previous generations. How the role of mother doesn’t always get easier, it’s just different. Being the support person and often observing mistakes without interfering. Caring for ourselves throughout our mothering journey. I encourage you to follow Jane on Facebook and Instagram.
