An ok recap
I stopped listening at 21.43 on the Beyond the Wild's episode. While's it's a decent recap show, they talked of events happening in next week shows, and I stopped to think, what am I doing, when I can just watch the show next week to see it for myself, instead of hearing about it a week before? The actual show is decent, with the host's having an alright chemistry and with a very detailed run down of the episode. It's quite funny at times, with my favourite running joke being deathwatch. The anaysis is kind of meh. While they sometimes get in deep with character motivations, they also sometimes veer into trying to find modern day/ historical parallels, and while they are there, the host's just sort of shout out x is like x and don't get into why it's interesting or ties into the themes of the show. Also Matt Patches the show's main host, often tries to find a feminist angle. While at times it can be interesting, such as comparing Katnis and Korra, the arguments and views he takes is often very tumblish, social justic warrior-y which can be off-putting at times. Overall if you just need more korra, there are ton's of places to go, and from now on, I won't be going here, but I might go back after the series if finished to hear what the crew says.

I look forward to Republic City Dispatch in the...Read full review »
