A Rich Side Dish to watching Korra
The Republic City Dispatch is a fantastic compliment to the viewings of Legend of Korra. Lead by Matt Patches, the crew makes some great insight into the deeper meanings of the show, but also have a fun sense of humor, particularly when it comes to speculation. The podcast is unofficial, but you wouldn't know it based on the surpsing level of depth they can pull from each epsiode, including noting the parralels LoK draws from both movies and other real-life inspirations. Discussions over Book 3's anarchism themes are especially note-worthy. And the best thing about it, is they don't just limit themselves to Korra's seasons. There have been bonus treats featuring conversations about the beautiful music of the series, to even the spin-off comics. And if you get the chance, a FEATURE-LENGTH COMMENTARY to play alongside the embarassing "The Last Airbender" film is not to be missed!

It's incredible how much thought and analysis that can stem from a show that is supposedly for kids. Insightful dialogue from all four hosts as well as entertaining debate about a fantasy world where the politics, themes and ideals are applicable to our own lives and government.

Oh, and for a fictional analog to the revival of air bending, how about the extinction and then return of the dragons in Game of Thrones?
