Don’t listen to the trolls
Most negative reviews of this podcast focus on Mike’s personal political views or something he said in a single episode that offended someone or about his book promotions (those are jokes for his longtime listeners, and Mike’s books are great). Mike Duncan does an excellent job keeping his own politics out of the history he’s telling. And if it’s telling from the reviews he’s offended both right and left, which is a sign of good presentation. If you’re looking for a history podcast, you can’t do better. Mike Duncan is a master craftsman who built this genre from the ground up back in the early days of podcasting. I can’t recommend him enough.
