“Tim Freke is an egomaniac. Never heard of him before. He doesn’t want to get into a “linguistic debate” but does precisely that. He then ruins what possibly could have been Rupert’s most innate contribution regarding the nature of reality. Maybe let Rupert finish his sentence, instead of wanting to hear ur own voice. Kudos to Rupert for being patient n a true master. I’m not sure if Rupert drinks but if he does, I can guarantee he had a strong one after this conversation.
Tim Freke (should I call him Tom? He called Rupert, Robert. Really?) claims to have been in this arena for 30 years but cannot comprehend the basics of the perennial wisdom. He keeps arguing n interrupting by claiming that the individual is real n in the process of becoming one with the whole. Silliness. Rupert, in many attempts, tries to guide him back to the truth. U can sense Rupert is aware that he’s not gonna get thru to him.
Even though this interview was frustrating for me, it really showed the difference between a true master n someone who was just interested in their own “celebrity.” Only one party was aware of this. The other was busy playing King Lear, without knowing it.
I’m guessing this was frustrating for Rupert as well. I give 5 stars because this may, indirectly, turn into a highly educational episode.
Addendum: (had a few minutes left in podcast before writing the above, lol).
Also, in the nicest way possible, Rupert lets Tim know that he’s not the real deal, he just knows the language, which is obvious, except to Tim.
Rupert may be the most polite and professional assassin of illusion that I have ever listened to.”
