I love this podcast and still check it sometimes hoping to see an “I’m back!” Episode. I hope he starts doing it again as it’s absolutely hilarious. I keep trying to think how to describe it but I’m at a loss. Trust me and listen to it. It’s amazing

Strange in every possible way

The show is decent, I guess. But the host, and his ostentatious presentation and bad jokes have ruined it for me after about three episodes. Sounds like a tabloid journalist.

An entertaining and well researched podcast. Thank you; you will be missed. Wishing you happiness and success in all you do.

I always loved these shows and appreciated the break from more intense true crime. I hope one day to see you all return. Until then- take care and thanks for the brain candy.

Please don’t stop totally. This is such a good podcast. Always interesting cases and presented with the best podcaster I have heard. Best radio voice ever

My favorite podcast ever! I can’t wait for the new episodes to come out every month!! Totally worth every cent of the Patreon! Edit upon hearing the last episode: Ohhh nooo! I am so sad that Rusty Hinges is coming to an end! When I heard the news at the start of the newest show, I kept hoping...Read full review »

Love RH. So sorry to see it finish. Was a bright spot in my podcast listening. Will miss Lars in my life however infrequently he appeared.

This is one of the best podcasts. Great variety and your delivery just makes this so entertaining. You’re a wonderful story teller, Charlie does a great job writing for you. Please come back from you break, occasionally if your job stops you from regular podcasts.

I love this! He doesn’t take himself too seriously- a great alternative to true crime podcasts when you’re up for a bit of light but engaging content.

So happy you’re back. At least, I hope you’re “back” back. My days without you were empty. From one snarky true crime enthusiast to another — please don’t leave me! Hopefully enough people fall in love with you to give you guys the freedom to make more episodes.

The stories are told with a dry wit that I adore. Good podcasts are hard to find. Bravo Lars 👏 When are you coming back? Three months is unbearable. I want you & Charlie to continue to podcast.
HulaDog58 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/08/21
But I really prefer Lars’ voice in earlier episodes. Sometimes I feel like he is over the top “silly” as if reading to his little ones. BUT- this podcast is super creative, witty, original. I love these right before bed. Charlie from Crimelines is the host’s partner and writer to boot!!!!

Why do I love this podcast? It's all around among the greatest! The host is perfection! Be aware there is sarcasm and dry humour. BUT I will say it's in all the right places. I dislike 'comedic' crime podcasts and don't listen to them. This one doesn't disrespect...Read full review »

The episodes are good and the information okay, but the kitschy voice pattern is horrid. Very annoying.

I love this podcast. I Discovered it via Crimelines. I love the sarcasm and humor. It’s smart, funny, and entertaining. Please check it out. The format is hard to explain, but it’s a must-listen!

If I had the money to support a podcast this is the one I would support. So here’s my five star review instead. The sarcastic take on these stories makes even the familiar ones interesting.

I love this podcast, straight forward witgh a twist of humor. Definitely on my regular list of crime casts.

This show is fun. Always make me chuckle.

Meowsa11’s 1-star review gets a 1-star review from me. This person is obviously a very unstable individual and needs help soon. That being said, I love Lars’ wit and delivery. I love the randomness and obscurity of the subject matter. 🍺

Ok so I am OBSESSED with podcasts...I stumbled upon this gem in 2020 and it fast became one of my favourite pods. Lars is a standout narrator with an easily recocgnisable patois, who weaves curious and extraordinary tales for your aural delights. I'm always hungry for the next episode. Love Lars’ delivery. Wish episodes were released more often.
x.catherine.x via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/11/20
Stop doing that with your voice and speak like a normal person and I might actually be able to get through an episode. It’s not clever. It’s just annoying.
Meowsa11 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/10/20
The host’s fresh, witty delivery of these mostly unique and always interesting stories makes Rusty Hinges an instant favorite. Lars’ storytelling feels like something narrated in The Royal Tenenbaums or Arrested Development. I can’t seem to get enough. Please keep them coming!
etyra via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/10/20
I can’t get past the host. The awful, lazy, low effort jokes and snotty delivery takes away from the story. If the guy could just tone it down till he actually has a good joke every now and then, but he shoe-horns in this garbage relentlessly.
Byte-Me via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/01/20
I am not one of your three closest friends but I am a big fan. I listen to every episode when it pops up. I love your delivery, it cracks me up. The content is always interesting and, even if it is a story I am familiar with, you tell it in such a way that I don’t recognize it until we’re well...Read full review »

Snarkiness isn’t for everyone, and I don’t particularly like it when it’s not well done. On this podcast, it’s well done. Lars has great timing, chooses cases well, and always highlights the most absurd aspects of his subjects. He has a great voice and a delightful sense of dry humor. I’m a huge...Read full review »

Host is not just someone who “thinks” he’s funny but is really just loud and annoying. Perfect combination of great true crime and smart wit - be warned, you may spit out your coffee from unexpected bursts of laughter.

I love, love, love this podcast. It’s one of my favorites and I’m always happy to see it in my feed. It’s got history, true crime, and dry humor-all my favorites! ❤️

This podcast has so much potential. It has interesting content and good sound quality. It’s clearly well produced. But it’s essentially ruined by the host’s bizarre persona and delivery. The pacing and pauses are unpleasant to hear, and I think the tone and inflection are meant to be cute, but...Read full review »

So look forward to the new releases....I listen to old episodes when having a bad day, the tone of this podcast, as you listen you can feel the stress leave your day and no matter the topic you’ll find yourself chuckling. Enjoy!

Why have such a great radio voice but use such dip—— inflections? Sounds like my second son in his last year of college major in mass comm. when he did jack—- voices to imitate certain broadcasters. You have good stories I will say.Practice your delivery! Thanks!
Cindy Clo via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/02/20
I love the stories, but I frequently get annoyed by the nonstop snarky tone. If used sparingly, it could be funny. But many times I feel like you are expressing your disdain for your listeners. I’m just not sure what’s up here.
mama bear in the usa via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/19/20
I really wanted to like this! Love a true crime podcast but his voice is so... it’s like nails on a chalkboard, the infliction is infuriating.
kimmiecutie via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/07/20
Agree completely with the reviewer who said, “Paul Lynde does True Crime.” Indeed, the delivery is non-clever and childishly snotty ( with some bad grammar, no less. Lol ). On one episode the dull host— in referring to the Bible— actually says, “ but King James is dead and I am not.” Whaaaaaaat...Read full review »

I’m very picky with my podcasts and hesitate when trying a new one. I like how this one is delivered with humor in the content. It isn’t tasteless humor like others do but is a dry humor. A new and refreshing way of presenting the story.

Lars is hysterical! This pod is a new top fave! Very well written and delivered. Fun and hilarious.
