A welcome overview of Black Sabbath’s wilderness years.
I often revisit certain Black Sabbath albums on this excellent podcast. I especially enjoyed Ry’s overview of the Black Sabbath’s mid 80’s wilderness years. I first got into Black Sabbath when Ronnie James Dio was the lead singer following his impressive tenure with Ritchie Blackmore in Rainbow. Ry’s humour and view point chimed with me.Being a fan of Deep Purple & it’s extended family,I was very open for Cozy Powell & Neil Murray to enter the frame in Black Sabbath, and newbie Tony Martin to wield his impressive ‘pipes’ and lyrical stamp on the proceedings. I last saw Iommi, Butler,Appice & Dio at Wembley in 2007, under the artistically liberating banner of ‘Heaven & Hell’. I hope Tony Iommi will record some new material with Tony Martin & Glenn Hughes and tour with either of them.

Sabbath is one of my favorite bands, and it was always a bummer that no one had done a podcast on them (not that I could find, anyway). I was elated to discover Sabbath Bloody Podcast. It is fun, the host has a lot of love for the band and he is absolutely hilarious. Highly, highly recommended.
