Sanity x ABCT: What to do About Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy (Episode 1)
This evening, I listened to an amazing podcast from the Sanity x ABCT podcast series. This Mental Health Podcast is produced by Dr. Duncan and his special guest, Dr. Robert Leahy. After listening to this series on Apple Podcasts, I was given a new perspective on how to effectively manage worry. I especially enjoyed Dr Leahy’s examples of worry and how to differentiate productive and unproductive worry in different situations. Most importantly, he illustrated the idea that worrying is only a hypothetical. In order to tacle these challenges in mental health, we must incorporate our knowledge of probability. In addition, Dr. Leahy provides a positive insight into the management of worry by talking about our psychological ability to manage negative outcomes. Not only has this insight helped me with my personal worries, but it will aid me in managing the fears and worries experienced by my future clients as a Licensed Social Worker.

As someone who works with children, listening to this podcast really benefited me in many ways on how to handle disruptive behaviors. When it comes to the timeout strategy, not only is important for children to face some consequences but it’s more important for them to also understand them.

Keep up the good work. I sometimes recommend certain books or audiobooks, but find people won’t follow...Read full review »
