The are no bees, but 5 stars, on Typhon
So I started listening to Sayer a few months ago, stopped after ep1 for 2 months, then marathoned it at my office. It has the perfect balance of existential sci fi, horror, and wit that make it a delight. While most of the comedy isn't laugh out loud funny, I found myself smirking many times at the titular snarky AI, which is appropriate for the tone of the show. The world this podcast pains is complex and harsh, but it's not without sense, and feels real. There are references to folk tales, history, biology, literature, film, mythology, Lovecraft, and other delights that help shape the storylines and make the world feel complete. I'm glad I have this podcast a 2nd chance, as now it's one of my favorites.Read full review »

I found this show after catching up on Welcome to Nightvale and it has just the right peculiarity. It creates a whole new world and sticks with it! Each new episode adds more to the world Created on Typhon

The AI voice is so intentionally calming, like a drug-induced numb, that closing your eyes transports you to the world created by the words.

A very well written scifi horror podcast set on space colonies cobtrolled by an AI. What could go wrong?
