Was it really necessary to film her reading that her citizenship had been revoked? Let me be clear. She joined a terrorist group which is inexcusable. I have no sympathy for her situation. But you exploited her for your own means. Take a leaf out of Josh Baker’s approach to treat everyone fairly....Read full review »

For me the main question is this: Is it decent behaviour for countries like the UK to dump these people in the Syrian and Kurdish regions for them to deal with for the rest of their lives ? Each nation should take back their people and deal with them under the laws of that country. I don’t...Read full review »

She has no real attachment to her family in the UK, no affection for this country and often states she feels unloved and her most valued relationships are with her friends who also absconded to ISIS. I would be very afraid regarding her future behaviour and the likelihood of her committing...Read full review »

Shamima Begum was only 15 years old when she went to Syria. I don’t believe she fully understood the barbaric nature of Isis. I believe she was presented with a picture of what an ideal life she could live. She was groomed and as a British citizen she should have the right to a fair trial and...Read full review »

An interesting and intelligent podcast. She, like many other radicalised youths, may have been shocked to realise atrocities were being committed on behalf of their cause…. But thinking that after you’ve lost everything you were fighting for, you can just say sorry and start anew as if nothing...Read full review »

I found the series interesting however the question ‘why’ wasn’t looked at in any depth. It seems strange that they were comfortable to suggest that their school could be where they had been radicalised but not a single mention of any local mosque or religious meeting place? Its hard to believe...Read full review »

This is an absolutely excellent podcast. The journalist and producers are clearly dedicated to reporting on a polarizing story that must have been very difficult to work on. I admire and appreciate their work. Listeners who left negative reviews are misdirecting their feelings. Everyone is...Read full review »

The way the media covered this story in the past is disgusting and probably contributed to the decision to strip her citizenship. Although I’d like to know more about how it’s legal to leave her stateless.

Too much repetition. You finish one episode and then have to listen to the same stuff at the beginning of the next. Frustrating editing.

I thought this was well researched written and presented. Seemed balanced and informative

Very repetitive. Not much analysis. Listened to whole podcast and still none the wiser re broader context. Too much of the lead presenter whose style is communicate if every single word is of the same importance. When listening it feels like you are being shouted at. Opportunity missed.

Rohit is hellbent on finding someone in the police/local authority/school to “blame” whilst completely ignoring any factor from the girl’s religious/cultural background and the secretive nature of grooming and self radicalisation. Whatever makes you feel better

Disgusting apology driven rubbish trying to make a terrorist who had no problem seeing baskets full of decapitated more palatable too the British people, full of excuses when the truth is she turned her back on our country, wanted nothing more to do with us and wanted jihad, she was treated like...Read full review »

That this girl was likely radicalised to an extent by her family mainly her father but supported by her mother. We can have cultural differences but living in the West means adopting Western values such as freedom for women to speak out, to learn and develop and to take jobs etc. There is this...Read full review »

This is such good journalism. I found it most enlightening, full of humanity and presents the facts in a without judgement. Great.

Offers perspectives from all angles including the families but does not change the fact that Shamima and her friends left the UK freely and joined ISIS. Two of her friends paid the ultimate price with their lives and the remaining one lost all claim to UK citizenship.
