“The Mets Pod is the best, most knowledgeable Mets podcast going and perfect for any fan of the Amazins’. Last night’s loss may be the toughest of this young season as Severino was simply awesome for eight innings before the Wendle mistake in the eighth and subsequent Diaz homer allowed in the ninth tarnished what would have been a good win. But despite those instances, the real issue seems to be the inconsistent and often times anemic offense, something most fans didn’t think would be an overriding issue entering the season. What do you see as the main reason for its struggles? Because we’ve now gotten two straight eight-inning performances from our starting pitching —something that was lacking the entire year — and barely won either game. Losses like Monday’s happen, yet they sting a little more knowing that they are what may down the road be the difference between this being a Wild Card team or a team that misses the postseason all together. Would love to hear your thoughts Thanks! — Tom from NJ”
