I love this show. I love the length of episodes, the topics, the vibe, the additional info and context and the laughs. The first episode I listened to was on pencils and my expectations were pretty low (pencils ??). I loved it! An easy and fun supplemental for Holmes fans.

Couldn't ask for more...well, yes I could. For those that feel the same, check out their podcast, "I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere." So excited to have found Trifles, after discovering IHOSE. Thank you!! You both are the best!!Read full review »

A level of detail you don’t think you need -but you do. I’ve gone back and listened to the very early episodes until today. Of course Scott & Burt have refined their approach, but the quality is there from the beginning. See The Canon as never before. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

As a fairly new fan, I was looking for things that talk about things past the surface level of the stories. The hosts do that without making it too hard to follow for new fans. Overall, a great podcast.

Seriously thought I was the only one who thought there should be a podcast devoted to the minutiae of Sherlock Holmes. Then I discovered this pod last month and it is perfect. And I have 5 YEARS of eps to enjoy. Started at the beginning and have listened to the first 18-19 eps. Have also caught...Read full review »

What a fun way to immerse yourself in the Sherlock universe! I would call myself a casual fan of the books, but this podcast has really motivated me to keep diving deeper into more of the stories.

This podcast is far more about the two hosts talking to each other - and either going wildly off topic, or taking way too long to get on (and stay on) the chosen topic of the week. Example: two maids a missing. Lots of talk about the Christmas carol, then offshoots of the Carol… In other...Read full review »

I really enjoy the podcasts and the details of Victorian life. There are occasional errors that annoy me, but I suspect they are relying on memory when the subject veers off course.

I love this I’m sorry I’ve only just found it but I’m having a great time catching up. I’ve always loved Sherlock & as a Londoner love hearing all the references to England. Great work, Carol

Entertaining conversation for anyone who enjoys the Sherlock Holmes stories.

This duo produce multiple podcasts on Sherlock Holmes, this is the shorter one. Every week you’ll hear them dissect a minor topic from the books and provide evidence for the line ‘there are no small parts, only small actors’ The details within the short stories and novels are fascinating and if...Read full review »

I started listen to Trifles and I Hear of Sherlock a little while ago and it’s really upped my passion for Holmes and Watson. I’ve always been a fan but now I’ve discovered much more. I am watching the Granada series and rereading the stories that I haven’t read in decades. I do admit I often...Read full review »

Two cheeky fools discussing the minutiae of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Sometimes goofy, it’s still like comfort food for the mind. The funnest podcast on my list of favs. I listen when I shower, when I’m walking, anytime I need something fun to lift my spirits. My favorite episodes are ‘Fog’,...Read full review »

Christopher Morley said, Thru The Haunted Bookshop, “That books are not dead things.” “The people in books become more real to you than any one in actual life.” The podcasts, every one-of-em, has that same treasured, & absorbing charm. Fuddling ourselves with speculation and fun. Thank...Read full review »

Love these explorations of the canon. Each ones exposes gems as stunning as a blue carbuncle and adds to the splendour of the stories. Concise but wonderful!

Only in Victorian London??? How about West Coast wildfires in the past three years? Love you two, but climate change is reality and the air quality index in WA, OR, CA has in the past four years (not so much 2019, which was reasonably normal NW Spring and Summer). It’s ok to make “political...Read full review »

Trifles is a very good podcast, but the hosts need to work on their style. There are long pauses while one or the other is trying to figure out what to say next. Might need to do a little more pre-work.

Like so many, I have been an admiring reader of Sherlock Holmes since I was a youngster. I will give any TV show or movie concerning this great literary invention at least a fighting chance before I deem it worthless. From the definitive Jeremy Brett evocation to two very different but (for me)...Read full review »

The Oirish accents were cringe-worthy. The lack of knowledge about Irish history especially regarding the Royal Munster Fusiliers is incredible even down to the mispronunciation of the "Fenians" and "Clan na Gael". Would it be too hard to do some research before the podcast or...Read full review »
