“I love Slate magazine and I really enjoy listening to Slate as I commute each day. The material is an interesting, provocative, and refreshing change over other news podcasts. I've been listening to Slate's daily podcast since it was first offered, but now I'm to the point where I barely listen anymore because of the overwhelming number of gabfests. I STRONGLY URGE the podcast crew to switch back to the daily news pieces (and bring back the explainer too! - i loved that one) and let people who like the gabfests subscribe to them separately, as they already can. Those of us who just want the shorter news segments don't have an option like that.”Read full review »

“i like slate, and sometimes i love it. seems smart, funny and sophisticated to me, but others seem to see smart alec. i see a variety of intelligent and witty writers, others see high school in-crowd exclusivity. i guess your emotional iq will make the call for you.”
