Informative and Entertaining
Slate's articles show how high the quality of an online magazine can be. In many ways, what The New Yorker and Atlantic Monthly are to print, Slate is to online magazines, and their podcasts offer a great slice of daily Slate. This podcast shows how well this site has matured and attracted a great stable of writers and reviewers. The Friday Political Gabfest makes sense of American Politics and adds colour to what otherwise might be seen as the polarized 'Us vs Them', black and white political analysis offered through American Cable news networks.Read full review »

The stories are great, but the gabfest is a little superficial. They don't spend enough time on one topice to really explain it, the whole thing kind of seems like cocktail chatter. This used to be my favorite podcast but the preponderance of Gabfest material is making me unsubscribe. I know some might like that content but can't you make a separate podcast stream for them? I miss the Andy Bowers reading Slate stories content. That earned my 5 star rating!Read full review »
