I've unsubscribed, thanks to the "Gabfests"
This used to be one of my favorite podcasts, right up there with "RadioLab" and "Car Talk." The Gabfests have taken over, however, and there don't seem to be any news articles anymore. When it was a mix of both, I would set iTunes to not sync any Slate podcasts to my iPod longer than thirty minutes. This technique to automatically weed out the Gabfests worked until the recent rise of the "Digital Manners" shorts, which is yet another venue for a talking-heads opinion roundtable. It's taken me a few months to realize it, but since there don't seem to be any more news articles I'm unsubscribing. Real shame; it was a great podcast while it lasted!Read full review »
