This week, in Fort Smith, Montana, an ambitious, and educated young couple settle into this tiny town, with high hopes. But as things begin to crumble, there are everything from public arguments to assaults with, and over, cookies. One night, one of the couple leaves, and doesn't come home, only to be found, floating face down in the river, with plenty of evidence to show that they didn't just tumble into the water.
