As an amatuer filmmaker, this podcast is insightful and inspiring. It really is a good view on the current state of filmmaking, and a morale boost for those working independently.

It's only frustrating because Kevin doesn't update this podcast regularly. I'd give anything to hear it every week. It's so good I had to give 5 stars despite it's inconsistent schedule.

Just started listening. Downloaded them all. Does anyone know where episodes 5 and 6 are?

Feels like Kevin is really in his element here (not that he isn't ever on his game). He's just uniquely qualified for these interviews with filmmakers. His interview with Scott Derrickson is particularly compelling. I hope he brings him back for Scott's next movie.

Listened to the Edgar Wright Interview and despite it's length was a really interesting and funny interview which kept my interest throughout. Nice to see Kevin letting the filmakers tell their stories and look forward to hearing more of these interviews.

Lengthy, informative, fun, entertaining. SPvsTW is my favorite film of 2010. Holding out hope for a wide re-release in conjunction with comic con this year. Wish I had seen it in theatres. Buying b4 viewing and watching it 7 times in less than 2 months... I would love to watch it again, on the...Read full review »

This is an Amazing addition to the Smodcast Empire! The show has a nice pace, and kevin asks great questions. The flow of conversation seems very natural and I find myself feeling as if I was the third person in this conversation. It's given me a whole new outlook on film and television. These are genuine problems directors undergo and are delivered in an entertaining fashion. For those that are impatient, take notice of these...Read full review »

These one-on-one long-form chat interviews between Kevin Smith and other famous filmmakers (DONNIE DARKO's Richard Kelly and SCOTT PILGRIM's Edgar Wright so far) are incredibly interesting and entertaining as hell. I'm a totally movie geek. This smod is my holy grail. I love that smith talks with directors we don't get to hear tons of interviews from. Plus they have made some of the coolest flicks.

Great podcast with a great host in Kevin Smith. The first episode with Richard Kelly was very insightful for those who are fans of his work on Donnie Darko and some of the origins behind it. It's like inside the actor's studio but for directors and also hilarious and fun. Hope it stays strong.
