So There I Was Review
For Fig and Repete, I have listened to your podcast since it was introduced on the Mac Geek Gab podcast. At first, I did not think I would listen as I was a wannabe aviator (Navy Supply Corps - pork chop/bad eyes). However, once I started listening, I was hooked. Not only was I reintroduced to Navy and Marine Corps lingo, but I recalled that aviators of my vintage (1973-1976) were free spirits. I now understand why a bit better: the combination of high testosterone and the hazards of the job required blowing off proverbial steam. I was once aboard the Enterprise on temporary duty, where they put me in a ready room to get me out of the way. A Lieutenant/pilot took me on a tour of the aviation spaces, up to the observation deck of the island while the ship was running GQ drills. In the process, he probably opened every secured hatch on the way and ignored the comments from ship's company. I have two suggestions for you. First, I suggest that you invite the Drill Sergeants from your OCS stories (hilarious, by the way) if you can find them, to get their side of the stories. Second, I suggest that you create a link on the website to all the technical jargon that you use on the podcast, so that those of us who are grounded can understand just a bit better. You may be able to pick up definitions from Navy and Marine Corps websites. Keep up the good work on both podcasts!Read full review »

Love the stories, as it’s so US centric why don’t you get some UK RAF pilots on , a few of them have done exchanges with the USN and USMC flying F14’s and F18’s. Keep up the great work
