Walking with Val and Al
With the world at a stand still recently, I am walking more km’s. I’m in Australia, so I am lucky to have that luxury. Years ago, I did a course at the Australian Writers Centre that threw fuel on my writing passion, and Valerie Khoo entered my atmosphere. I follow her and Alison on Facebook and devour their posts and advice with fervour. Now their voices are literally in my head. Everywhere! I started listening to their podcasts when I walk and when I drive. It’s like having friends with me all the time chatting about writing. How great is that? I laugh at their rhetoric, I’m inspired by their advice and I marvel at the authors they interview. The honesty, the frustrations and the triumphs are all shared equally. Truly a writers home...away from the journal and the desk!

I only subscribe to three podcasts and this is one of them. It’s well worth a listen if you’ve ever entertained the thought of becoming a writer. I enjoy the interviews and the little tips Valerie and Allison give about making a career out of wrangling words. More please!
