Great storytelling marred by the ads
This will sound so strange but the worst thing about this podcast is the sponsor. The sponsor is Candy Crush - and every few minutes during a somber story about murder, this high pitched girly voice comes on yelling about Candy Crush. It’s so jarring. Literally I went from a sentence about a woman being out through a wood chipper to “HEY KIDS LETS PLAY CANDY CRUSH!!!” (paraphrasing the ad). Obviously, the CBC needs sponsors and why turn down money? But maybe they could strike a different tone with the ads that isn’t so...disjointed? It’s almost disrespectful listening to a mother cry over her lost child and then immediately hear a squealing voice pitching candy crush.

Really well told story with just the right amount of suspense, sorrow, and intrigue. Well done!

There is NO investigation or reporting in this very boring podcast. There is no case. Four episodes in, and there is no evidence any crime was committed...Read full review »
