Back but somehow diminished
So, having listened for a number of months, Presumably Dr No and Dr Beat left the Beeb as part of the cuts. However it seems now that they have just moved to a platform where $$ are the most important thing. Paywalls, dimwitted adverts and in show VPL adverts. The furniture and wittering that cosseted the previous programme and made it so perfect has gone. Replaced by contrivance. It is such a shame because both are legends and I love Mark’s reviews. I know change is constant but we should expect that it is for the best and not for the $$$. I want to pay because it is so good, not to be forced to do so in order to be less annoyed. Listened to it on 1.5 the other week, Simon was Radio1tastic.

More reviews of Kermode & Mayo’s Take
… unlike any of the films of 5STAR apparently

I haven’t heard a word of this because it is yet to be broadcast but that doesn’t stop me giving it a five star review- if it’s only half as good as their previous 5 Live incarnation, it will still be the best movie podcast available. Long live Wittertainment!

As an LTL from the very beginning of 5Live programmes, I was left bereft, thinking that I would have to deal with one thing and another, hoping it would be alright in the end, on my own. But SAVED! The Church guru’s remain in the pulpit spreading their gospel of cinematic life lessons.
