“… but this is a mere shadow of its BBC version. Whilst I appreciate they’ve gone to a commercial station and adverts are inevitable, but to have 3 of them, back to back, is taking the proverbial and their listeners for mugs. I was one of their so-called heritage listeners (since 2012) and looked forward to listening to the new pod every week, but after giving the guys a chance to get settled into their new station, I’ve found I simply don’t care any more. I think Simon Mayo is one the best radio presenters ever and I respect Mark Kermode as a brilliant and incisive film critic, but sadly, this new show just doesn’t gel, it seems rushed and forced and the intrusive and unrealistic scripted adverts grate. Sorry Mark and Simon, I’m afraid you’ve lost me 😢”
