Still brilliant. And in some ways, better.
This is still a big, warm hug of a show - now actually three shows - every week, and I for one welcome the freedom to explore topics and opinions that were off limits in the BBC days. Which is no slight - I loved that show, too. The interviews are perfectly judged as ever, the guests top-drawer, the listener contributions moving and hilarious in equal measure. So many of the one star reviews here seem motivated by spite, alongside a weird belief that something costing money to make should be free. Simon was deeply unhappy at the BBC, and treated very shoddily by them. The paid sub costs £1 a week, which is objectively great value for the output. The free version remains just that!

Made my weekend knowing I can carry on listening to these two geniuses. Weirdly met both of them in the same day 5 years ago and told Mark in Golden square, Soho that the podcast had kept me going through a really tough year.
