The way he communicates is authentic and out of the box. Dares to push the evangelical limits. I find his take refreshing and how he unpacks scripture

Been listening to JM for just over a year now. One thing I love is that I don’t love every episode. While some words comfort and encourage, some grind and agitate. Seems like the gospel. Johnathon’s sermon contextualizing deconstruction and the following word from CeCe Jones Davis (season 2 ep....Read full review »

This is one of my favorite podcasts!! Most definitely “God-ordained” (sorry Pete ;) His episode with RHE will always be one of my favorites, but I love each one... and his books too! Thankful for his voice in the church and his willingness to stand up and speak out!

Where to even begin!! Jonathan is a wizard with words. I have never been so challenged and encouraged to befriend the tradition that I was raised in (and wanted to discard all together). For anyone who is deconstructing/ having a transfiguration of faith, Jono helped salvage the best parts of my...Read full review »

Jonathan is such a well spoken man who really gives passion, while always bringing a narrative of the gospel of hope. Now, of course I don't necessarily agree with everything that's said, but it's still such a challenging podcast none the less. There's lots of things to take to...Read full review »

I began listening to Jonathan’s messages when he was lead pastor at Renovatus Church. His ability to relate and weave into his messages art and the world at large .. creates a sense and understanding of oneness that brings them alive with an awesome sense of divine Church/world unity.

Jonathan’s intellect and heart are what carries this podcast and his ministry. He asks the questions I want to ask but can’t find the words for and his humility and love for God and the word doesn’t make it feel like he is running away from the Lord in fact it’s like he standing right in His face...Read full review »

I’ve listened to several other podcasts, but the way Jonathan intertwined these two subjects gave me so much hope. The darkness was overwhelming me, and I could actually feel the tenderness of God reaching me. I recommend these podcasts to anyone who has the slightest doubt that they are loved by...Read full review »

As a UM preacher, come from American Baptist roots, serving Christ in Central PA I have found these podcasts spiritually refreshing and calming. Our tribe is in turmoil and decline, but I feel something in Martin’s messages and journey that offers hope and newness of life! Keep them coming...Read full review »

So often the word I need, and almost as often not one I want to hear. Powerful, prophetic and so necessary.

Consistent. Fresh. Diverse. Propelling. Spiritual. Meditative. Politically informative. All the feels.

I have been following Jonathan vaguely for a few years. But this podcast is a breathe of fresh air and a lifeline for me in this season. In a would full of confusion, Jonathan regularly reminds me that Jesus is holding it all together and bringing everything to conclusion in Him.

Jonathan’s honesty & willingness to address the hard topics is refreshing & needed in our world today. Particularly needed for mainstream evangelicals- especially people “like me”.

Jonathan is such an outstanding preacher. He approaches the text with so much awe, nuance and wonder. I've learnt soo much from him.

I’ve gotten to know Jonathan over the past few years and have always been blessed by his work—as we’ve walked similar journeys and seasons, he frequently provided the homiletical soundtrack. This podcast is engaging and gentle, good and wild in the most Christlike ways.

Have been following Jonathan since he wrote Prototype. That book helped me so much with gaining a proper view of how God views me as a son. From their, even through his own pain, Jonathan has continued to share this vision. This podcast will nonetheless do the same.

My husband and I have been following Jonathan since we were privileged to be introduced during his time at Sanctuary Church in Tulsa, OK. I can’t describe how his preaching has touched our lives, has helped us make sense of the “C”hurch during these fragile political and personal times. He is...Read full review »

Jonathan has been a much needed voice of encouragement and strength to me in a time of spiritual nomadism. Always getting to the heart of the matter, he courageously tackles tough questions about life, faith, struggle, and suffering.
