The episodes are great whether I know the songs or not.

But the Katy Perry v. Jill Sobule is a highlight.

Todd rules, the hipster co host is annoying and grating. This gets worse and worse as hipster co host becomes more and more hipster .

This is by far the most entertaining and interesting music podcast out there. I love hearing Todd and Lina discuss their takes on these songs!

The hosts have great chemistry and they squeeze a lot of fun discussions out of a pretty silly premise for a podcast

Todd and Lina make this show highly entertaining with their view on the songs, as well as the albums and artists related to them. While some of the tropes of the show become evident early on (I feel like you could make a whole drinking game on Lina’s phrases) they do not put a damper on the...Read full review »

Lina brings the Gen X historical context and experience of songs. Todd brings the same for Millennials. It’s great for the burgeoning “born in the wrong generation” RYM zoomer to discover music.

Song vs Song makes my little music nerd heart happy. It’s got the vibe of a bunch of friends having a chill night in and debating their favorite music, but also having the expertise of research and pop culture history to make the arguments even more intriguing.

Bobby helms existed into 1958 and there’s a quiz of his 3 hot 100 proper hits and everyone gets jingle bell rock but nobody gets the others (borrowed dreams, the fool and the angel) at all

I don’t like the songs but the podcast is good and I love it

I liked Todds content since 2011 but I’ve had to unsubscribe and stop watching his videos as i keep finding his takes outside of music to be conjecture based and I can’t take any more. I didn’t want to leave this review but i previously left a positive one and wanted to delete it but I could only...Read full review »

LOVE Lina and Todd’s analyses of the songs and the history of different genres. They’re also pretty funny and entertaining, and they have such great chemistry. 10/10 content, more people need to be listening!

Very well researched podcast enriched by a myriad of details about the songs and artists covered as well as great guests. Unfortunately, over the years it sounds like Lina has blossomed verbally to the point where she’ll start interrupting Todd and their guests to make jokes that only she seems...Read full review »

Free wheeling, informative, and entertaining discussions about a wide range of music. Todd and Alina are both incredibly knowledgeable, as well as hilarious and very engaging to listen to. This has quickly become my favorite music podcast!

Absolutely love Song vs Song! I’m already a very music trivia inclined person and I feel like Todd and Alina are kindred spirits in that regard. I’m learning so much about songs I thought I knew and they give me information about songs I wasn’t that aware of. Love the format, love this show....Read full review »

As a music nerd with a compulsive need to argue, this podcast fills the hole for the argumentative-music-nerd friends I wish I had. Come for the music history, stay for William Shatner, Weird Al, + the cat-themed song parodies. As a bonus, it's also introduced me to a lot of really great music.Read full review »

Started listening to this podcast because I like listening to Todd tell me about music. I love having weird facts about all subjects and his YouTube videos are a goldmine for that. Listening to the podcast I find that I usually agree with Alina’s opinion though! No offence Todd. It’s interesting...Read full review »

Great show. Flys by. I’m also super impressed that tho mrs Morgan practices a non traditional like style it doesn’t ever become the topic of the show. It’s just something he/she whatever practices but doesn’t feel the need to preach. Soood 5 star pod. Gotta do CCR run thru the jungle vs join...Read full review »

I love your show! Would you consider Incubus “Drive” vs 311 “Amber”? I’d love to hear an episode featuring 311.

The other host is so smug and forthrightly arrogant. The misplaced, hypocritical torrents of verbal vomit makes the podcast not worth listening to. Good concept though.

Wow, I can’t believe there’s only one other written review for this show so far. This is basically my favourite podcast. For an hour every two weeks I’m able to forget the depressing state of the world when I listen to a new episode. I love the thought that goes into the match-ups, the unanashed...Read full review »

i literally don’t know half of the songs but am looking forward to every episode nonetheless. from niche 90s jams to pop-powerhouses of the 2010s, the conversation is always incredibly engaging, nuanced and layered. helps me discovered hidden gems from the part and feel vindicated in my hatred of...Read full review »

One of my favourite podcasts, the hosts are funny and offer interesting insightful takes on the songs they discuss. I think the concept is fun. The delivery wasn’t my style. I also didn’t expect the language since the explicit tag wasn’t used in the episodes I listened to

Reviews are fair, funny and Todd is close to me in age and similarly versed in VH1 specials and pop up video, which I loved so much. Lina’s comments are insightful and also very funny at times. Love the three questions at the end of each episode.

If you are a human being with a heatbeat and auditory senses you need to listen to this podcast. It’s two amazing people arguing “highly researched” sides as to which song is “objectively the best”. Good premise for a show, but the hosts ruin it. Annoying to listen to and they find ways to shoehorn politics and Trump into it. I don’t care what someone’s politics are just tired of it. I don’t listen to music podcasts to hear unrelated politics squeezed in.

I love "Todd in the Shadows," but this isn't for me. It might be for you if you're into the whole "Dude, we're just like two friends hanging out or whatever, saying whatever pops into our heads about random stuff" approach to podcasting. I am not. Todd can make funny,...Read full review »
