Appreciated these extraordinary young women being at the forefront of the story, as well as the science and detective work behind the capture of this individual. Thoughtfully told.

A masterfully and respectfully told story. It honors the victims but also tells the story of the southside stranger being brought to justice. It has a history lesson about DNA being used in forensic investigations also.

Word of advice - you don’t heavy metal tunes playing behind your interviews - trust they are interesting - also the listener wants to focus on what the person is saying -

Binged it and love the way you told the story and can’t wait till season 2!

First let me say, almost three years after its debut, I’m listening to and am captivated by this podcast and the story. There’s a whole lot of information to provide to us, the listeners. For the most part, it’s down very well. It looks like a second and subsequent season was never produced. I...Read full review »

I love a murder podcast but being familiar with the locations of the events makes this one hit differently. You never know what’s around the corner.

Digging this podcast. Somewhat astonishingly, I learned that I went to high school with one of the Southside Strangler’s victims. If you’re a true crime fan or interested in Richmond/NOVA history, give it a shot.

The music in the background of most of the talking is super annoying. I may not be able to finish it. It’s so distracting. And it’s super creepy that he keeps saying pleasant dreams at the end of each episode; this is a story about women being raped how is “pleasant dreams” an appropriate thing to...Read full review »

So good and creepy yet sad recount of a serial killer from my hometown. As a lover of the series Mindhunter, it was a great companion listen from start to finish.

Riveting! Gave me chills! Very well done and fascinating how this case has led to so many criminals being convicted using DNA evidence.

I like the presentation, if only the sound level would be equalized so I don't have to keep adjusting the volume between interviews. That's annoying. And if someone cannot be understood, please summarize for us what was said.Read full review »

Was extremely intrigued and impressed by this podcast. As a Richmond native, and a true crime lover, this was a homerun for me. My grandfather was Richmond city detective sergeant Norman Harding. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this podcast. As a retired law enforcement officer I appreciated the variety of quality and directly involved sources used. Some of these crime pod casts are just crap, this one was not.

I grew up in Westover Hills and was in high school during the Southside Strangler attacks. My parents would wait outside with the dog for me to get home from work. It was a very scary time. Good in depth reporting.

Crazy good! I’m from Richmond and was a young girl when these murders happened. So it was incredibly captivating. This is story-telling at its finest. I’m a big fan of Richard Foster now. Totally incoherent. All they did was talk about a video they were watching of the Chris Watts case as it was happening. We as listeners can’t see the video, so it made no sense.

Great podcast. This podcast tells the true story of the south side strangler and how he was caught. I love this podcast. This podcast is as good as any Netflix series. Binge worthy for sure. Growing up in the South Side of Richmond in the late 70’s and early 80’s makes this a must podcast for me. Love it!

Great story but the audio quality is so variable during the interviews that it’s almost impossible to even understand some of the people. Especially disappointed for a highly anticipated professional podcast.

One of the best true crime podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Not only do you hear about the crimes and the investigation, we actually hear about the victims and their stories. I also like how they discuss the lasting impacts of this case.

An excellent study of the events surrounding the Southside Strangler. Most importantly I feel that the victims and their families were given the respect they deserved. Very interesting to learn how DNA was used to convict the murderer.

The first few episodes have made me vigilant about locking all my doors and windows again. I moved to Richmond in 1999, well past when these murders took place, but I had heard the phrase of the “Southside Strangler” thrown around here and there throughout the years. I am a Richmonder, so I feel a special connection to this podcast, regardless it does a great job of telling a compelling, complicated story without relying on preproduction or redundancy to tell its story - also does a great job of honoring the victims lives
k3nd411 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/07/18
Enjoying the style and content of this podcast. Early episodes are victim focused. Looking forward the upcoming details on the investigation. The only complaint is the sound quality. Interviews volumes jump around making a little annoying to listen to in th car.
