I’m a fan of this podcast, but my only issue is that Mr. Annis insists on only using metric system units in his descriptions. If you grew up with NASA, everything, and I mean everything, is in Imperial units. It’s frustrating as I try to do quick math and continue to pay attention. Other than...Read full review »

As a child born in the early fifties, I remember the events. However I never knew the “behind the scenes “ history. I am truly enjoying this podcast.

This podcast is outstanding. Not only is the detail astonishing, the delivery is brilliant. A perfect cadence, non intrusive yet totally mesmerising. The icing on this cake is the concurrent story for the Soviet space programme, considering the secretive nature, there is extraordinary...Read full review »

This is an amazing journey through the space race. I love the way it follows the events in deep detail and chronologically. As someone who wasn’t born until long after much of this happened it is captivating to explore the history through this lens. I’ve found myself listening for hours on end...Read full review »

Micheal does a great job working primary sources into the podcast to provide a sense of what all these historic flights were like. His commentary is also almost always helpful to paint a clear picture of the events and context of a mission.

Seminal, binge worthy commute sized (if your daily commute is 20 to 30 minutes). To date, through some more than 300 episodes, Michael Annis gets you up, close and personal to luminaries like the controversial Wernher von Braun and the state guarded secret of Sergei Korolev who played pivotal...Read full review »

By far the best podcast for space flight, rocket, NASA and Soviet space flight history. Great for both technical aspects and the people in space history. Excellent.

Space Rocket History is one of the most meticulously researched podcasts out there. And Mike always manages to mix narrative with original source material to create engaging episodes full of historical details. It's great that the older episodes are now available again.Read full review »

Michael is a wonderful storyteller. Every episode is researched in great care to tell the history of rockets and space travel as well as it could be. Relevant archive audio is included throughout to even better tell the story. The moon landings are my earliest memories. I’ve read tons of books...Read full review »

This is easily the best space history podcast. I actually cancelled my audible subscription because this was actually better.

What happens to a podcast’s earliest episodes after a show’s been running for five years? The RSS feed system starts vanishing them. Mike’s answer to this problem is this ‘new’ podcast of ‘old’ episodes. These shows are a valuable look back at where things got started. It’s also where he...Read full review »

Each episode is full of information that is compiled from many resources. I hope that the missing episodes between the regular podcast and the archive will be included soon. The shortness of the episode makes it easier to tolerate the droning from reading from a transcript.

What could be better than Space Rocket History? MORE Space Rocket History of course! The host Mike Annis does a masterful job of detailing the history of space flight from the very first test launches through manned missions.
