“I have been a listener for maybe a year or so now, and I happened across this podcast when searching for medical themed podcasts (as I’m a pre-med student and live hearing about medical history and stuff). The first story I heard was Dr. Walter Freeman (a.k.a. Dr. Lobotomy) and his victim Howard Dully’s story, and I was immediately hooked. These stories are told with not only a lot of research and detail behind them, but with love and compassion. Karen is such a wonderful, empathetic, and lovely storyteller, and hearing her and Erica feed off each other’s silliness makes me smile every time I listen. I feel like I’m in on their conversation, and it’s just a hangout with good friends. Absolutely love this podcast and could not recommend it more, if you love medical true crime, compassionate storytelling, and goofiness, look no further.”
