Hosts are terrible
It was a much better book than a show but I watched the show twice. It was well done (the show) and even though I really disliked some of the creative choices I see why the show runners did so for the reimagining. The hosts are odd. Explaining Miranda as …. Struggles as a black female artist…. By the writer does a disservice to the character and the magnificent actress who played her. That said. Angelica’s ease with crapping on people because of their race (ep 3 at 4 minute mark) and when talking about cults are unacceptable. And the writer saying “I can’t wait” etc when Angelica says she is about to dunk on white men… Embarrassing. The hosts are smart but their view of the world is trifling if their commentary is to be believed.

Big mistake in having one host who didn’t read the book. Especially glaring in episode 9 when the author came on.

Angelica Jade Bastien is a great critic and clearly spends ample time preparing, asking incisive questions...Read full review »
