This week’s guest found fame in 1981 with his band Haircut 100 who’s debut album Pelican West peaked at Number 2 in the UK album chart and his songs Fantastic Day, Love Plus One and Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl) were all smash hits until the band’s collapse shortly before production was about to begin on their second album. Since 1983 he’s been a hugely successful solo artist and has written some just beautiful songs such as Whistle Down The Wind, Kite and Blue Hat For A Blue Day, I’ve had the pleasure of working and writing with him and he’s been a great mentor over the years… We had such a cool conversation that took a few interesting tangents so I really hope you enjoy it. I’m so lucky to have him on the pod; this week’s guest is song-writing royalty: Nick Heyward.
For more info on Nick and his upcoming album visit www.nickheyward.com
Next week’s guest is Mat Hector a drummer best known for his work with Iggy Pop, Sinead O’ Connor and most recently Razorlight so make sure you tune in for that one.
This was a Jesse Smith production.
