I'm so glad we had this time together, just to have a laugh and sing a song. Seems we just get started and before you know it...comes the time we have to say "so long".  It's been a fun time and we're grateful for all our listeners and supporters. As the year 2024 starts up, we look back at our holiday fun, talk about some silly news, and about the real possibility that we'll end the podcast under the current name. We'll be keeping the faithful updated on our Facebook page "Art and Susan's Podcast". 

It's Christmas time and we have an excellent suggestion for your friends and loved ones who like a lively read. Our old friend JP Linde is back with his latest book Fools Gold, available on Amazon. It's a wild adventure set during the Yukon Gold rush between Wyatt Earp and Jack London. The always funny JP  talks about the writers' strike and what gave him the idea for this book. 

Susan and Art both had big dinners with family with all the extracurriculars and Art decided to "spatchcock" the turkey. Also, a recap of Susan's comedy seminar for the Ha Ha Harvest Comedy Festival. 

Fruit truck smashes into Art's car, sledge hammers smash a hole in his fireplace wall, and Susan dashes over to check on an elderly friend who's not answering calls or texts.

Susan and Art get a chance to work together in Wenatchee Washington with Travis Sherer. Apparently Susan has been given a new nickname by her peers that fits her act perfectly. Art, Susan, and Travis take the show to a room at the Red Lion to mostly talk shop with the likable  and intelligent Travis, who's been a guest on two episodes. 

Art and Susan get back to their love of talking shop today with their guest Pat House.  Pat is a national touring comic out of Philadelphia who plays all the "A" Comedy Clubs across the country. At 38 years old Pat has been a stand-up half of his lifetime. Even though Pat is much younger than Susan and Art, they share a common the love of making people laugh and stories about the craft of stand up.   Find Pat on his YouTube channel " Pat House" or tune into his podcast " I Guess I'll Do It!" ...

We chat about Susan's comedy seminar and the Portland Comedy scene, the washed out Burning Man, and the change blowing in the winds for fall and for humans in general. Deep stuff, and we weren't even drinking or smoking pot.

Art's been gone for a few weeks to help his sister through a difficult time and there are fires everywhere. Time to reflect, appreciate the ones we love, and find some things to bitch about. 

Susan takes a break from criss crossing the state of Washington doing gigs to hang with her family at the beach. Art takes a break from the basement project to hang in his back yard tropical paradise. Both Susan and Art have an embarrassing story to tell. 

Some times, summer is full of fun and sad things all at the same time. Susan has been quite busy doing shows. Art had a bittersweet vacation in Bend and attended a wedding for his nephew that had an international flair as well as his father's 100th birthday party. 

The day before the 4th of July and it's getting hot in here. We talk about what friendship means to us the older we get and what's really important. Also, a funny sign in a dispensary window.

Artificial Intelligence is on the brink of exploding into our lives in a big, big way. Some smart people think humankind is in real trouble and some other smart people think A.I. will solve world hunger, global warming, and find a cure for cancer. Whatever you think about it, sh**s getting real whether we like it or not. And it's fascinating. Also, Susan did a show in a nursing home and Art's basement is coming along. 

We talk about Art's basement cleanup project and Amy Poehler's The Gentle Art Of Swedish Death Cleaning (Peacock Network) and what that means to anyone who's trying to declutter their home. Also, we talk about what an amazing night we had in Edmunds performing for the locals to raise money for the city and a charity. Susan has a show in the most unlikely of venues and Art has an injury that sends him to the ER for a memorable night. 

This is one of those days when you can't ignore the news. But we didn't just talk about politics. I mean, we did. But we also talked about our shows, Art's puppy fostering and other lighter stuff. 

Even though we have published this episode twice already, we really felt the need to pay tribute to one of Portland's brightest starts. Darcelle (AKA Walter Cole) passed away at 92 yesterday leaving Portland without one its brightest stars. Give a listen and you'll see what a funny and warm personality we have lost.

Our buddy John Wing stops back by via zoom to talk about his latest ventures. John is a comedian, poet, writer, and musician who's appeared on America's Got Talent, and toured North America for 43 years even though he's younger than either of us. He has a podcast The Bad Piano Player available on all platforms and also has really funny stories. He talks about life on the ships, getting back into a groove after Covid, and his family. Susan had some gigs, Art's dad got Covid on his 100th so he stayed at home and did some DIY plumbing to cure his haunted toilet.
