Loving it. Will definitely improve over time.
I tried reading through a bunch of the stuff on Shawn's website, but this podcast is helping me internalize it little by little. It has been incredible, like cramming 30 years worth of experience into little one hour snippets. Because of the intensive study each episode, it's hard to grasp it all, but I've been sticking with it from the beginning and I'm just now starting to get it. Here are a couple ways it might be improved: 1) Stop apologizing. We are listening because we are interested in the content. Scene rewrites and nitty-gritty philosophizing is totally OK. In fact, it is what makes this podcast unique and enjoyable. Keep it up. 2) Have a few, solid questions to cover in each episode. Maybe write them out. This will eliminate a lot of the verbal pauses (um, uh...). It's almost like Tim is mentally processing the content on the air, which should be done later, on his own time. It's been a great podcast. I had NO idea there was so much that went into editing. Loving the richness of the content. Keep it up! -RyanRead full review »

Candid, informal and so much valuable information. This is perfectly timed for me as I’m just starting my first novel. The first episode is a gem and I am looking forward to the rest.

I’m hip deep in my first novel and this podcast is essential for getting a better view of my work. The way they discuss scenes, point of view, types of stories, all of it is incredibly helpful. I believe any writer would be helped by this. I was tipped off to The Story Grid book over the summer....Read full review »
