“Stein's innovative concept deserved a better fate. It was a thoroughly enjoyable show, and so fresh because each week was dedicated to interviewing the author of a completely different news magazine story.
Better yet - and this is for everyone who reads this review now that new episodes won't be forthcoming - each podcast will remain ever-green because the story of the week was rarely (if ever?) "ripped from the headlines." They'll be as funny and charming in 2025 as they were when recorded.
So sad to think that Joel Stein will now become the Dr Johnny Fever of the podcast universe (which is who the late Howard Hesseman remains today for those who loved the prematurely cancelled WKRP in Cincinnati).
Or perhaps the Less Nessman instead?
