I'm not a fan of listening to people ramble on, never was. But these two are something fiercely adorable. Not only are they genuinely charming and positive, their podcast is insightful and wholeheartedly educational. If you love storytelling, story wonk is a must!

I just discovered this series and I can't wait to download more episodes. I love how nice and entertaining the two hosts are, and how they seem really "real" if you get what I mean. Love how they can talk about writing without being boring. I'm also subscribing to their Sunday podcast series.

I put on Storywonk while puttering away at chores. It's great for learning new ways of approaching your writing, and for subconsciously pondering your book.

I don't know how many StoryWonk Daily episodes I've listened to in just the past week, but I may need an intervention. Husband-and-wife team Alastair and Lani are wonderful hosts: they talk quickly, have great voices, they laugh a lot, and pack in lots of great wonky writing discussion with an...Read full review »

I listen to Lani and Alastair each day as I'm getting ready for work. They get me thinking about writing at the start of the day and by the time I'm at work I've already done some "writing work." What sets this pod cast apart from others is all of the fun that these two strong, smart, and silly...Read full review »

I am listening to the Five Man Band breakdown and I am finding it super useful. They talk about structure and get inside the story in an accessible and inviting way. Plus, they have lovely voices and are easy to listen to. I plan on working my way right back through their work.

Between Lani's passionate rants and contagious laughter and Alistair’s smooth Scottish smarts you won't want to miss a single show. This podcast is hilarious and they really know their stuff!

I enjoy this podcast tremendously - and, while I read voraciously, I have no ambition to be a writer of fiction. I find the podcast thoughtful and informative but also entertaining and charming.

Whether you are a writer who started recently or one who has been writing for years, these two will have something for you. Not all writers are actually articulate, but here we have two very articulate, very smart writers who are coming at the craft from the opposite ends of the spectrum. Their...Read full review »
